This sonic sculptural installation was a further investigation into the metaphorical connection between "hives" and urban space. A "keynote" in musical composure is a base tone or musical combination of tones, the sonic element was created from field recordings of tires on freeways surrounding a city, as a way of capturing the keynote of the city. Tires were sourced from various tire repair shops throughout Oakland and San Francisco.
