Textual Landscapes
"Textual Landscapes" is a series of collages created as an exploration into painting with information. Conceptually linking a personal attraction to nostalgic ephemera found in old magazine and newspaper media with my interest in analog navigation done through paper maps. California maps, one 1974 People magazine, and 1936 Pasadena Star newspapers were layered to produce informational compositions, playing both to the painterly tradition of landscape and psychological landscapes created when imbibing media.
